From the inception of the OSV concept we knew it was critical to partner with a first-rate cargo-racking outfitter. We needed a company that was progressive in its thinking and bullet-proof in its construction. Thule was the obvious choice. World-wide leaders in racking solutions, renowned for their quality construction and a deep connection to the outdoor industry, we contacted them immediately. With the True North Freelance not much more than an excited sales pitch with a rough sketch on a napkin, Thule fell in love early and hard for the OSV. To say they were instrumental from the word ‘go’ is an understatement. They provided input, materials and support throughout the prototyping process.

Through a process of intense market research by Thule and ourselves we have come up with what we believe to be the absolute best of Thule's offerings for the diversified applications of the outdoor athlete:

• On the lifestyle side, by installing standard four of the Smart RV Anchor Pods on every Freelance, we were able to tap into Thule Smart RV catalog and bring you versatile exterior options like the Smart RV Table with Table Caddy, Smart RV Universal Hook and Smart RV Trash Bin. On the interior, the handy multi-pocket wall organizer with zipper enclosure for secure travel is a great solution for storing those smaller, critical items.

• For racking we equipped every True North with Top Tracks so as to make all units rack ready. For our racking requirement we went with a Thule four load bar rack system with locking TKII Tracker Feet. This versatile set-up allowed us to offer the rack-mounted Thule Professional #326 box awning to provide ample shade. We also incorporated a UWS (a Thule owned company) tongue-mounted aluminum diamond plated storage box that could be utilized for wet storage when the situation requires it.

  From there we surveyed our customer base as to which Thule rack options would be most desirable to the end user. For transporting bikes we are proud to offer the Sidearm Bike Carrier; for kayaks, the Hull-A-Port; and boards (surf, wind, kite, etc…) the Hang Two complete with four board pads. For general storage/transport, the Spirit 1600 XT with 16 cubic feet of cargo room was the storage pod of choice.
